SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
We are planning on an on-time start on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Mini-qualifier at 10 AM.
Due to slow travel conditions, scouts got a late start. 4 ranked sailors are currently scouting Senachawine Lake in IL. Green Lake in WI is no longer under consideration because of snow. Next update by 3 PM CT, January 24, 2022 or possibly sooner as we hear from scouts.
Due to the unexpectedly high volume of snow received on Monona, we are currently looking at two other locations. Lake Senachwine near Peru, IL the other Green Lake, WI. An update will be provided by noon CT on Monday, Jan 24.
With very cold temperatures across the region, the earliest the US Nationals will start will be Wednesday, Jan 26, with registration closing at 7 PM local time on Tuesday, Jan 25. Next update is Monday, Jan 24 by noon CT.
Message from the Governing Committee and PRO:
Well, Mother Nature has sent us a curve ball. We sailed Lake Monona today, and it’s sailable with the snow, but the current temperature does not allow for racing. The Governing Committee intends to proceed with the regatta. We have to investigate alternate sites to continue the regatta. We have sailors proceeding to both sites to evaluate them and report. We ask that everyone stand by, stay put, and we will have another update at 4 PM CT.
Due to predicted low temperatures, the Skipper’s meeting for Sunday, January 23 will be postponed until 11 AM CT with racing to begin at noon. The Skipper’s meeting will take place at the Olin launch site on the ice.
